PHNOM PENH, April 21, 2026 (KPT) — More than 5.4 million people in Cambodia received humanitarian assistance in 2025 as rising needs from displacement, economic pressures and climate challenges stretched response efforts nationwide, World Vision International said Monday.

The organization reported aid reached nearly one third of the population, including 3.1 million children, underscoring widespread vulnerability. Operations expanded to cover 84 percent of the country, including Phnom Penh and 20 provinces.

A major focus was communities displaced along the Cambodia–Thailand border, where more than 140,000 people received emergency support ranging from food and clean water to education and psychosocial services. World Vision set up 45 child friendly spaces and 54 temporary learning centers to ensure continuity for children.

Beyond emergency relief, the group invested in long term development, with nearly 165,000 children accessing inclusive education and over 41,000 under fives receiving health and nutrition services.

National Director Janes Imanuel Ginting said the work reflected both community resilience and the importance of strong partnerships, as World Vision marked 56 years of operations in Cambodia.
