PHNOM PENH, April 26, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has received two Indonesian officers to join the ASEAN Observers Team (AOT) led by the Philippines, tasked with monitoring the border situation with Thailand, officials said Sunday.
Defence Ministry spokeswoman Lieutenant General Maly Socheata said Lieutenant Colonel Devi Ibrahim and Major Rangga Hadi Saputra will work with the AOT to observe, verify and report on the implementation of measures agreed under the Joint Statement of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee.

Socheata stressed Cambodia’s full support for the observer mission, describing its role as essential to ensuring the ceasefire and building transparency, accountability and mutual trust. She reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to faithfully implement the December 2025 Joint Statement, the October 2025 Peace Agreement and other relevant accords aimed at securing lasting peace and stability.
The deployment reflects ASEAN’s collective effort to reinforce confidence and safeguard the recovery of normalcy along the frontier.
