Cambodia and EU Reaffirm Ties During Ministerial Talks in Brunei

PHNOM PENH, April 29, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn has held talks with the European Union’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, reaffirming strong ties during a regional meeting in Brunei.
The bilateral meeting took place on April 28 on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN–EU Ministerial Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Cambodia’s foreign ministry said both sides referred to recent engagements, including a December 2025 phone call and Prime Minister Hun Manet’s visit to Brussels in February 2026.
Discussions covered regional and international issues of mutual concern, including developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
Both parties reiterated their commitment to peace, stability, and respect for international law.
Separately, Sokhonn met Ana Isabel Xavier, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
And Władysław T. Bartoszewski, Secretary of State at Poland’s foreign ministry. Officials said Cambodia, Portugal and Poland reaffirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation and deepen bilateral relations.
