Cambodia to Host ASEAN Civil Service Meetings to Drive Governance Innovation
PHNOM PENH, May 5, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia will host a series of key ASEAN civil service meetings in August to advance public sector innovation and strengthen regional cooperation in governance, officials said Tuesday.
The Ministry of Civil Service confirmed that Siem Reap will convene the 23rd ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM) and the 8th ASEAN+3 meeting, alongside related events.

Held under the theme “Innovation for Better Public Service Delivery,” the gatherings reflect a regional push to modernize governance and improve efficiency and quality in public administration.
Preparations are underway, with technical working groups coordinating logistics and program content. A preparatory session chaired by Yok Bunna earlier this week reviewed progress and outlined next steps, including regular reporting by sub‑committees ahead of a follow‑up meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many is overseeing the process, underscoring the government’s commitment to delivering a successful regional forum.
Officials said the meetings will provide a platform for ASEAN and partner countries to exchange best practices, address common challenges, and explore innovative approaches to governance.
The initiative highlights Cambodia’s growing role in regional dialogue, as it seeks to enhance institutional capacity and promote more responsive, citizen‑focused public services.
