PHNOM PENH, May 29, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s immigration authorities have dismissed as false reports claiming African nationals with expired waivers had been ordered to leave the country by the end of May.

In a statement issued Friday, the General Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Interior said information published by two websites — Campaigner Online and News Ghana — alleging such an order was “completely untrue.”

The reports had claimed that “Cambodia orders Africans with expired immigration waivers to leave by May 31, 2026.”

Officials rejected the claims outright and urged the public to rely on official government sources for accurate information.

The department advised members of the public to consult its official website or contact its hotline for verified updates.

Cambodian authorities stressed that immigration policy remains unchanged and that no directive has been issued targeting African nationals with expired waivers.
