BEIJING, June 22, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni has conveyed heartfelt thanks to Britain’s King Charles III for his message of encouragement during the Cambodian monarch’s recent illness, underscoring the cordial ties between the two royal households.

In a formal correspondence dated June, King Sihamoni said he was “deeply touched” by the words of support sent by King Charles after learning of his health condition.

He added that “healing wishes” from Queen Camilla had provided comfort and strength throughout his treatment and recovery in Beijing.

The Cambodian monarch expressed his “heartfelt appreciation” to the British King and Queen, extending his own wishes for their continued health, happiness, and well‑being.

The exchange was issued as part of established royal protocol and reflects longstanding cordial relations between Cambodia and the United Kingdom.

Royal messages of this kind, while largely ceremonial, are widely seen as reinforcing goodwill and mutual respect between heads of state.

Such gestures often carry symbolic weight, particularly in moments of personal health concern or national milestones, highlighting continuity in bilateral relations and the enduring role of monarchies in diplomacy.
