PHNOM PENH, July 17, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related events in Manila from July 18 to 23, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.

The meetings, hosted by the Philippines under the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together,” will bring together ASEAN foreign ministers and dialogue partners to discuss regional cooperation and follow up on the outcomes of the 48th ASEAN Summit.

The agenda is expected to include exchanges on regional and international developments amid an increasingly complex geopolitical environment, the ministry said.

Following the ASEAN sessions, Prak Sokhonn will attend events marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia, which the ministry described as a key framework for promoting peace, stability and rules‑based cooperation.

He is also scheduled to take part in meetings under the Mekong cooperation framework and the 5th Conference on Cooperation among East Asian Countries for Palestinian Development.

On the sidelines, Prak Sokhonn is expected to hold bilateral talks with counterparts from other countries to discuss ways of strengthening diplomatic relations and cooperation, according to the ministry.

Cambodia’s participation reflects its commitment to ASEAN centrality and multilateral diplomacy, as well as its efforts to expand engagement with regional and international partners.
