Cambodian Prime Minister Congratulates New French Leader
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept. 14, 2025) —Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on Monday extended warm congratulations to His Excellency Sébastien Lecornu, the newly appointed Prime Minister of the French Republic, following his official appointment on Sept. 9.

In a formal letter, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet described the appointment as “an important step in His Excellency’s political career” and expressed confidence that it would open new avenues for strengthening Cambodia-France relations.
“The Royal Government and the people of Cambodia are committed to working closely with the French government to inject fresh momentum into our strategic partnership,” Samdech Thipadei wrote, citing shared history and values as the foundation of bilateral cooperation.

He also emphasized Cambodia’s readiness to jointly organize key initiatives, including the Francophonie Summit scheduled to take place in Cambodia in 2026.
“I am truly honored to anticipate Your Excellency’s future visit to Cambodia,” Hun Manet added, concluding with his highest consideration and best wishes for success in the prime minister’s new role.
