PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.12, 2025) — Cambodia and Japan are expanding trade and investment cooperation through a business matching event co-hosted by ACLEDA Bank Plc. and the Japan-Cambodia Association, bringing together around 60 companies from both countries to explore new partnerships.

Held Nov. 12 at ACLEDA Bank’s headquarters in Phnom Penh, the fourth edition of the event builds on successful gatherings in 2019, 2022 and 2023. Participating firms span sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, construction, cosmetics, IT and artificial intelligence, architectural design and consulting.

Mar Amara, ACLEDA’s Senior Group Chief Financial Officer, said the event aims to foster innovation, financial knowledge exchange and long-term collaboration between Cambodian and Japanese investors. She emphasized ACLEDA’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and business growth through strategic partnerships.

Japan-Cambodia Association President Takahashi Fumiaki, a former ambassador to Cambodia, said the delegation—mostly composed of small and medium-sized enterprises—has visited Cambodia annually for five years to build direct business-to-business connections. He praised ACLEDA’s role in facilitating meaningful engagement and expressed confidence in Cambodia’s economic resilience.

Japan is one of Cambodia’s key trade and investment partners, with bilateral trade reaching over $2 billion in recent years. Japanese firms have invested in infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology, while Cambodia exports garments, agricultural products and electronics to Japan.
