PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Sept. 7, 2025) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended his congratulations to Anutin Charnvirakul on his election as the 32nd prime minister of Thailand, expressing hope for strengthened bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

In a formal letter sent Saturday, Hun Manet described Anutin’s victory as a reflection of public confidence in his leadership and voiced optimism that Thailand would achieve greater progress under his administration.

“Peace, harmonious coexistence and shared prosperity between our two countries are the aspirations of our two peoples,” Hun Manet wrote. “I look forward to working closely with you to restore relations between Cambodia and Thailand to normalcy, rebuild mutual trust, and transform our shared border into one of peace, cooperation, development and shared prosperity.”

The message comes as Cambodia and Thailand mark 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2025, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to ASEAN principles and regional stability.

Hun Manet concluded his letter by offering best wishes for Anutin’s success and expressing confidence in the future of Cambodia–Thailand ties.
