PHNOM PENH, Mar. 13, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s garment and manufacturing industry representatives joined government authorities Friday to promote compliance with construction regulations aimed at ensuring safety and quality in industrial facilities.

The Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, organized a workshop on “Compliance and Updates on Construction Regulations, Building Usage Certificates, and Building Inspection Procedures.”

The event sought to share updated information on legal frameworks and procedures governing Cambodia’s construction sector with industry members and stakeholders. Compliance with regulations is essential to guarantee that buildings, particularly factories, meet technical standards and safety requirements, they added.

The workshop also raised awareness about procedures for obtaining building occupancy certificates and conducting inspections, described as critical steps before facilities are put into operation.

Through expert presentations and discussions, the programme aimed to strengthen understanding of regulatory updates and best practices aligned with international standards, supporting safe and sustainable industrial development in Cambodia.
