Chinese Textile Delegation Explores Cambodia’s Export‑Driven Garment Sector
PHNOM PENH, April 23, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s Textile, Apparel, Footwear and Travel Goods Association (TAFTAC) said Thursday it welcomed a high‑level delegation of textile and dyeing industry leaders from China, reflecting growing regional interest in the country’s garment and footwear sector.

The visit comes as Cambodia’s garment, footwear and travel goods exports hit $15.5 billion in 2025, up 15.7 percent from the previous year. Garments contributed $11.4 billion, footwear $2.09 billion, and travel goods $2.02 billion, together accounting for about half of Cambodia’s total exports.

TAFTAC said the delegation included vice presidents of national associations as well as chairmen, CEOs and general managers from leading textile, dyeing, finishing and new materials companies. The group’s strong technical and production‑focused profile highlights opportunities for deeper cooperation in upstream and midstream segments of the supply chain.

Cambodia’s improving investment climate and strategic positioning within ASEAN are attracting interest from regional partners. The delegation’s visit underscores the potential for expanded collaboration in dyeing, finishing and new materials, reinforcing Cambodia’s role as a competitive hub for manufacturing and export growth.
