PHNOM PENH, 12 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has deported 835 foreign nationals in a sweeping crackdown on online scam networks, illegal border crossings and unlawful employment, officials said Wednesday.

The deportation was carried out at Techo International Airport by the General Department of Immigration under directives from Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha. The group included nationals from 10 countries, among them 319 Chinese citizens linked to technology based fraud cases.

Authorities said the move reflects the government’s strict enforcement of the law to dismantle criminal networks, safeguard public security and rescue victims deceived into fraudulent operations.

In a related operation, police arrested 805 suspects of seven nationalities during inspections at the Xinli Casino in Preah Sihanouk City on February 10. Officials reported nearly 200 sites have been raided nationwide in the past month, leading to more than 2,500 detentions.

Police data show that in the first nine months of 2025, 48 operations were conducted, resulting in 168 court cases and the deportation of 2,722 foreign nationals.
