PHNOM PENH, Feb 11, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has expanded its pilot of the v Pass system, a digital platform designed to replace traditional passport stamps and QR code stickers for foreign visitors, officials said Wednesday.

Implemented by the General Department of Immigration, the v Pass is now in use at all three international airports and seaports, streamlining entry and exit procedures through technology. Travelers receive digital arrival and departure records via email, the official e Arrival website, and the Cambodia e Arrival mobile app.

Tourism authorities said the initiative aims to modernize border management, reduce paperwork and speed up passenger processing, while aligning Cambodia’s travel procedures with global smart travel standards.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia welcomed 5,569,752 international tourists in 2025, a 16.9 percent decline from 6.7 million in 2024. Despite the drop, revenue from international tourism rose 3 percent to about US$3.7 billion, according to the National Bank of Cambodia.

Chinese arrivals ranked second with 1.2 million visitors, up 41.4 percent, while Thai arrivals totaled 1 million, a sharp 52 percent decrease. The United States accounted for 200,000 visitors, down 3.6 percent, and South Korea recorded 15,000 arrivals, down 20.6 percent.

Officials urged industry associations, operators and travelers to familiarize themselves with the new process, describing it as a step toward greater convenience for tourists and improved efficiency for the sector.
