PHNOM PENH, Feb 11, 2026 (KPT) – Chinese enterprises operating in Cambodia have created more than one million jobs for local citizens, underscoring Beijing’s role as the Kingdom’s largest source of investment and a key driver of industrial growth.

The milestone was announced Monday during the inaugural Cambodia–China Public–Private Dialogue Forum, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wenbin, alongside representatives of Chinese companies and Cambodian ministries.

Officials highlighted that thousands of Chinese factories and businesses currently active in Cambodia have not only generated large-scale employment but also contributed to sustainable economic growth and expanded trade between the two countries and international markets.

The forum was established as a platform for investors to raise operational challenges and for authorities to improve Cambodia’s investment climate. Key topics included taxation, customs procedures, logistics, energy supply, agriculture, agro-industry, and labor issues.

Chanthol stressed that China remains Cambodia’s largest investor and trading partner, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a more efficient, transparent, and supportive environment for Chinese enterprises. He said the dialogue mechanism will convene every six months to monitor progress and ensure investor concerns are addressed through a “win-win” approach.

The first session brought together 80 representatives from Chinese companies through the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, marking the start of a regular engagement channel aimed at strengthening confidence, resolving bottlenecks, and encouraging further Chinese investment in Cambodia.
