Both sides cited their 66-year diplomatic relationship as a foundation for deeper collaboration, highlighting shared cultural heritage and hospitality. The Cuban delegation thanked Cambodia for facilitating meetings with local tourism associations and said the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed at an upcoming international tourism fair in Cuba.

Discussions also covered reciprocal familiarization trips to promote destinations and diversify markets, with officials noting that Turkish Airlines routes via Istanbul now make travel between Phnom Penh and Havana more feasible.

The planned MoU is expected to formalize cooperation in destination promotion, tourism exchange, and market development, strengthening people-to-people ties through travel.
