PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.12, 2025) — Cambodia and the United Kingdom have agreed to deepen cooperation in combating technology-based fraud through joint investigations, intelligence sharing and capacity-building initiatives, officials said Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Sinarith, head of the Secretariat of the Committee for Combating Technology-Based Fraud (CCTF), met with British Ambassador Dominic Williams in Phnom Penh to discuss coordinated efforts to tackle cybercrime and strengthen bilateral enforcement mechanisms.

Sinarith emphasized Cambodia’s commitment to addressing tech-related scams through national and local coordination. He said the CCTF was designed to complement existing frameworks and improve collaboration among authorities from the grassroots level.

He also briefed the ambassador on recent operational results, underscoring the importance of international partnerships in identifying criminal networks and enhancing digital security.

Ambassador Williams welcomed Cambodia’s establishment of the CCTF and praised its proactive approach to cybercrime. He said UK-Cambodia relations continued to grow and expressed interest in expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including cybersecurity.

Both sides pledged to pursue further joint initiatives aimed at preventing and prosecuting technology-driven offenses.
