Cambodia’s Central Bank Denies Issuing Gold Leaf Products
Phnom Penh, Cambodia (Oct.30, 2025) — The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) on Oct. 30, 2025, issued a clarification denying any involvement in the issuance of gold leaf products bearing its logo and name, calling such use illegal.

The statement followed viral posts on Facebook showing gold leaf items featuring the bank’s logo, accompanied by claims that the products were officially issued by the Cambodian central bank.
The bank emphasized that all transactions involving gold and other precious metals are the sole responsibility of the buyers and sellers involved.
