Government spokesman Pen Bona said the Thai troops crossed into Cambodian territory early Friday, advancing into Prey Chan village in O’Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province.

The troops were reportedly armed and operating heavy machinery, clearing land until midday. The incursion occurred at the same site where Thai forces had previously set up tents and stationed vehicles, Bona said.

He called on Thai authorities to immediately halt all acts of encroachment and violence, and to honor the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Bona also urged compliance with the spirit of the Joint Boundary Commission and Regional Border Committee meetings, citing the 2000 Memorandum of Understanding, international conventions and human rights principles.

“The Cambodian government calls on the international community to condemn Thailand’s aggression and to take necessary measures to prevent further violations of Cambodia’s sovereignty,” Bona said.

He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment, under Prime Minister Hun Manet, to uphold the ceasefire and resolve border issues peacefully through existing bilateral agreements and international law.
