Justice Minister Urges NADR Mediators to Uphold Integrity and Professionalism

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.01, 2025) — Deputy Prime Minister Koeut Rith has called on newly accredited mediators to serve with dedication and professionalism, emphasizing their role in advancing Cambodia’s justice reform agenda.

The remarks were delivered during an oath-taking ceremony held on Sept. 30 at the Ministry of Justice for the second cohort of mediators accredited by the National Authority for Non-Judicial Dispute Resolution (NADR). The event followed the NADR’s 11th official meeting, during which 40 mediators were formally granted legal accreditation.

Presiding over the ceremony, Koeut Rith—who also serves as Minister of Justice and Chairman of the NADR—said the oath represents not only a legal requirement but a public commitment to impartiality, ethical conduct, and fair dispute resolution.

He underscored the NADR’s mission to expand access to justice and provide a community-level alternative to formal court proceedings, particularly for civil disputes. “The effectiveness of non-judicial dispute resolution depends greatly on the quality and integrity of our mediators,” Rith said. “Your work contributes meaningfully to individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole.”

He added that strengthening the role of mediators would help ease the burden on Cambodia’s judicial system while fostering national stability and social harmony.
The NADR remains a key pillar in Cambodia’s broader justice reform framework, aimed at resolving disputes efficiently and equitably without litigation.
