Cambodia Urges Japanese Tour Operator to Boost Tourist Arrivals

NAGOYA, Japan (Sept.26, 2025) — Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism Hout Hak has called on Japanese travel company MS Tourist Ltd. to continue supporting efforts to increase Japanese tourist arrivals to Cambodia, following a meeting held on the sidelines of Tourism EXPO Japan 2025.

During the September 25 meeting in Nagoya, Huot Hak thanked MS Tourist, represented by company official Tomoji Abe, for its role in promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential and facilitating travel for Japanese visitors. He praised the company’s contributions to the sector’s growth and welcomed its suggestions for improving Cambodia’s tourism offerings.

The minister said the company’s feedback would be incorporated into future policy measures aimed at attracting more Japanese and international travelers. Cambodia received more than 73,000 Japanese tourists in the first eight months of 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

Huot Hak led a senior delegation from the ministry and private sector to attend the Tourism EXPO and the Ministerial Roundtable Meeting, part of Cambodia’s broader push to strengthen tourism ties with Japan and expand its presence in key Asian markets.

Between January and July 2025, Cambodia welcomed approximately 3.84 million international visitors.  Cambodia welcomed approximately 65,000 Japanese tourists, according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism.
