Cambodian Prime Minister Welcomes Myanmar Party Leader for Courtesy Visit

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Aug. 28, 2025) — Prime Minister Hun Manet on Thursday received a courtesy call from U Khin Yi, chairman of Myanmar’s Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), during a meeting aimed at strengthening ties between the two political parties.
U Khin Yi expressed his gratitude to Hun Manet for the opportunity to visit Cambodia and engage in discussions, noting his pleasure at returning to the country. He praised the Cambodian leader’s “wise leadership,” citing his extensive knowledge and military experience.
The USDP chairman said the purpose of his visit was to enhance cooperation with the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), particularly in areas related to youth and women’s engagement, as well as media and communications.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the delegation and expressed satisfaction with the progress in relations between the two parties. He voiced support for continued collaboration between Cambodia and Myanmar, especially in youth-focused initiatives.
