Cambodia’s $1.5M Cashew Processing Plant to Launch in Kampong Cham
Kampong Cham, Cambodia (Aug. 20, 2025) — TL Agri Foods Import Export Co., Ltd., a 100% Cambodian-owned company, is set to launch a $1.5 million cashew nut processing facility in Kampong Cham province this September, aiming to boost domestic value-add and international exports.

The factory, located on a two-hectare site in Chamkar Leu district, will process up to 50 tons of cashew nuts per day using advanced automation technology. The company plans to export to key markets including China, Japan, South Korea, the U.S., and Europe.
CEO Oknha Leang Tyleng said the facility will source raw cashews from its own 10-hectare farm and purchase up to 100,000 tons annually from local farmers. The move is expected to stabilize farm-gate prices, reduce reliance on middlemen, and improve rural incomes.

The plant will create jobs across sorting, shelling, packaging, and logistics, with a focus on hiring women and youth in surrounding communities. Beyond employment, the company aims to elevate Cambodia’s cashew industry by shifting from raw exports to high-quality processed goods, enhancing GDP contribution and foreign exchange earnings.

TL Agri Foods positions the project as a strategic step toward making Cambodia a competitive player in the global cashew market, alongside Vietnam, India, and Ivory Coast.
