PHNOM PENH, May 10, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia and Singapore have reaffirmed their cooperation to expand bilateral tourism through joint market promotion, combined travel packages, increased flight connectivity and familiarisation trips, officials said Friday.

Tourism Minister Huot Hak met Singapore’s Ambassador to Cambodia Steven Pang Chee Wee to discuss ways to strengthen tourism ties.

Chee Wee praised Cambodia’s progress in infrastructure and connectivity, noting that the country had become an increasingly attractive destination. He pledged continued support for cooperation in tourism promotion, human resource development and flight connectivity.

Both sides also agreed to deepen collaboration in training for digital tourism, hospitality and modern management skills, underscoring their shared commitment to sustainable and competitive tourism growth.

Hak urged Singapore to encourage more direct flights to Cambodia’s key destinations, stressing that peace, political stability and rich tourism potential provide a strong foundation for attracting visitors and investors.

Cambodia welcomed about 5.6 million international tourists in 2025, including 44,189 from Singapore. The two countries have in recent years strengthened cooperation in promotion, training and air connectivity to boost tourism flows and investment.
