PHNOM PENH, June 4, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is preparing to host the Cambodia Agriculture Forum and Exhibition 2026 (CAFE26), a flagship event designed to showcase innovation, attract investment and strengthen partnerships across the agrifood sector, officials said Wednesday.

Preparations were outlined during a stakeholder consultation chaired by Agriculture Ministry Secretary of State Prak David, with participation from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, development partners, private companies, financial institutions, farmer associations and agribusiness groups.

David said the meeting aimed to promote CAFE26 and engage stakeholders in shaping the event, which will provide a platform to explore modern technologies, exchange experiences and build collaboration to drive sector growth. He noted the success of the inaugural forum in 2025, which went beyond product displays to foster networking, knowledge sharing and new commercial opportunities.

“CAFE is not only an exhibition but also a platform for innovation, partnership‑building and enhancing competitiveness in domestic and international markets,” he said.

Organizers briefed participants on the vision for CAFE26, scheduled for October 23–25 at Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center. Discussions focused on expanding international participation, strengthening public‑private partnerships and promoting Cambodia as a destination for agricultural investment and innovation.

Jointly organized by the Agriculture Ministry, FAO and strategic partners, the forum is expected to bring together policymakers, investors, agribusinesses, development partners, financial institutions, farmer groups and technology innovators to accelerate modernization of Cambodia’s agrifood systems.

Agriculture contributed 16 percent to GDP in 2025, with export revenue rising 7.3 percent to $6.46 billion. Key exports included rice, rubber, cassava, cashew nuts, mangoes, pepper, bananas and durian.
