King Sihamoni congratulates Trump on US Independence Day

PHNOM PENH, July 3, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni has extended warm congratulations to US President Donald Trump on the occasion of America’s Independence Day.
In a message sent ahead of the July 4 holiday, the monarch conveyed his “warmest felicitations and sincere best wishes” to Trump, wishing him good health and continued success, along with prosperity for the American people.
Sihamoni underscored the value Cambodia places on its long‑standing friendship with Washington and welcomed the steady development of bilateral ties.
He voiced confidence that cooperation would continue to expand across shared interests, contributing to prosperity in both nations while promoting peace, stability, mutual understanding and sustainable development.
The King closed his message by conveying his “highest consideration” to the US president.
The United States marks Independence Day annually on July 4, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Cambodia and the United States established diplomatic relations in 1950. The partnership spans trade, health, education, demining, cultural exchanges and law enforcement, with Washington also providing significant support for Cambodia’s public health and development programmes.
