PHNOM PENH, July 15, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet left Wednesday for a three‑day working visit to China, where he is scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping, hold talks with Premier Li Qiang and attend the 2026 World AI Conference.

Samdech Thipadei departed from Techo International Airport leading a high‑level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, Defence Minister Tea Seiha and senior officials. Business representatives are also part of the mission.

According to the foreign ministry, the prime minister will attend the opening of the World AI Conference in Shanghai on July 17, held under the theme “AI Partnership for a Brighter Future.” He is expected to deliver a speech and meet Chinese business leaders.

Officials said the visit reflects Cambodia and China’s commitment to strengthening their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, advancing the Diamond Cooperation Framework and promoting what both governments describe as an “All‑Weather Cambodia‑China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.”

Government spokesman Pen Bona said the trip would serve as a new driving force to expand cooperation and deepen bilateral ties.
