Cambodian PM Hun Manet to meet Xi Jinping, attend AI conference in China

PHNOM PENH, July 13, 2026 (KPT)– Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will pay a working visit to China from July 15 to 17, where he is scheduled to meet Chinese leaders and attend the 2026 World AI Conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday.
In a statement, the ministry said Samdech Thipadei will lead a high‑level delegation and take part in the opening ceremony of the conference in Shanghai on July 17. The event is being held under the theme “AI Partnership for a Brighter Future.”
The prime minister will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice‑Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tea Seiha, as well as other ministers, senior officials and business representatives.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet is scheduled to call on Chinese President Xi Jinping and hold bilateral talks with Premier Li Qiang. He will also deliver a speech at the AI conference and meet Chinese business leaders.
The ministry said the visit reflects the two countries’ commitment to strengthening ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, advancing the Diamond Cooperation Framework and promoting the building of an “All‑Weather Cambodia–China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.”
