The two sides reviewed past cooperation, including the Bank’s support in strengthening Cambodia’s private sector competitiveness and preparing for the WTO’s Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement (IFDA) in partnership with the International Trade Centre.

Discussions also covered the outcomes of a recent needs assessment workshop, which examined sector-specific requirements for implementing the IFDA. Chanthol praised the initiative and pressed World Bank experts for deeper analysis to help the government shape policies aligned with global trends.

He urged stakeholders to maintain close collaboration and called for continued World Bank support in advancing Cambodia’s logistics and trade sectors.

World Bank representatives reaffirmed their commitment to assist the government in positioning Cambodia as a high-potential logistics hub. Both sides agreed that, amid global uncertainties, careful investment facilitation is vital to bolstering investor confidence and encouraging greater inflows of capital into the Kingdom.
