Cambodia Reviews Two New SEZ Proposals as Investment Momentum Accelerates
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 3, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia is pressing ahead with the expansion of its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) network as authorities reviewed proposals for two new zones during the second “Single Gateway Meeting” of the year, officials said Monday.
The meeting, convened by the Cambodia Investment Board under the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), was chaired by Secretary General Chea Vuthy and attended by representatives from key ministries and the Phnom Penh Capital Administration.

One proposal is led by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, while the other comes from Amrita Development. Both projects are designed to attract high-value investment, with a focus on digital technology, agro-industrial processing, food production, packaging, and research and development.
Officials said the new zones are intended to serve as strategic growth engines, supporting industrial diversification and innovation-driven development.
The review follows Cambodia’s recent approval of three SEZ projects worth a combined $260 million in Kampot and Kampong Speu provinces, underscoring the country’s push to strengthen logistics capacity and manufacturing competitiveness.
