Cambodia strengthens workplace safety through new OSH partnership
PHNOM PENH, March 2, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is reinforcing workplace safety standards through a new public–private partnership aimed at expanding Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) awareness and training nationwide, officials said Monday.
The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training signed a memorandum of understanding with Khmer Family Business Management to establish a structured training framework designed to improve OSH knowledge among workers and enterprises.

Labour Minister Heng Sour said workplace safety was a core government priority, particularly as Cambodia’s industrial and manufacturing sectors continue to expand.
Under the agreement, the company — a joint initiative between China’s Guanhong Enterprise Management (Qingdao) and Cambodia’s LX Group — will provide technical expertise, safety inspections and capacity-building programmes to strengthen compliance with national and international OSH standards.
Officials said the initiative aims to reduce workplace risks, improve regulatory standards and enhance productivity by fostering safer working environments. They added that stronger OSH systems are seen as essential to sustainable economic growth and labour protection as Cambodia attracts more factory investment.
