78-km Cycling Event to Promote Tourism, Solidarity
PHNOM PENH, Feb 27, 2026 (KPT) – A 78-kilometer cycling event from Phnom Penh to Takeo province will be staged next month to promote tourism and strengthen national solidarity, officials said Thursday.
The Phnom Penh–Takeo Cycling Event, organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Takeo provincial administration, will take place on Sunday, March 8, under the theme “Tourism Grows in Peace.”

Cyclists will set off from the ministry headquarters at 5:00 a.m. and finish in Takeo town. The ride coincides with International Women’s Day and highlights local attractions, notably Chisor Mountain Temple. The program also includes the distribution of school supplies to underprivileged students.
Registration is free until March 5, with the first 700 participants receiving commemorative T-shirts. All riders will be provided with refreshments and lunch.
Participants must bring their own bicycles and wear sports shoes suitable for hiking at Chisor Mountain Temple.
