PHNOM PENH, Feb 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cashew producers in Kratie province have secured export contracts after meeting international quality standards, as Khmer Agro Cashew announced plans to procure 10,000 tons of cashew nuts nationwide this year.

The company has signed agreements with six agricultural communities in Prek Prasab district to supply a combined 6,000 tons for processing and export, with each community delivering 1,000 tons under the deal.

Khmer Agro Cashew, headquartered in Kandal province, said the initiative supports the government’s strategy to strengthen value added processing and expand Cambodia’s presence in overseas markets.

Company representative Tang Bunthoeun said Kratie was chosen for its high quality kernels, particularly those graded size 27 and above, which meet export requirements for ASEAN and European buyers.

Community leaders said the contracts guarantee stable demand and fair pricing, boosting incomes and reducing poverty. Provincial officials noted the six communities manage thousands of hectares of plantations, positioning Kratie as a key contributor to Cambodia’s cashew export ambitions.
