Cambodia eyes up to 1 million tons of cashew output in 2026
PHNOM PENH, 13 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is projected to harvest between 800,000 and 1 million tons of cashew nuts in 2026, driven by expanded cultivation and favorable weather, according to the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia.
Association president Uon Silot said the upcoming harvest is expected to peak in April and May, about a month later than usual, due to seasonal delays. He noted that cultivation areas have expanded nationwide and weather conditions have remained supportive.

Cambodia currently has about 740,000 hectares of cashew plantations. In 2025, the country exported around 1 million tons of raw cashews, generating $1.5 billion in revenue – a 27 percent increase compared to 2024.
Vietnam remains the primary destination for Cambodian cashews, but officials said efforts are under way to diversify exports to India and Ivory Coast.
Industry leaders believe the sector’s growth will strengthen Cambodia’s role in global cashew supply chains, while providing new opportunities for farmers and exporters.
