PHNOM PENH, 9 February 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has urged Saudi investors to explore opportunities in the Kingdom’s special economic zones, particularly in halal product manufacturing, as both sides move to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The call was made Sunday during a meeting between Commerce Minister Cham Nimul and Waleed Nasser Alshehri, Chairman of the Saudi–Cambodia Business Council, accompanied by a delegation from the Saudi Chambers of Commerce.

Nimul briefed the delegation on Cambodia’s latest economic and trade policies, highlighting government efforts to improve the business environment, attract foreign investment and enhance competitiveness. She said Cambodia’s strategic location offers Saudi businesses access to the wider ASEAN market.

Alshehri welcomed Cambodia’s progress in trade and pledged to organize a larger Saudi business mission to Phnom Penh in the near future. He noted that Cambodia’s development vision aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the action plan under a memorandum of understanding on trade promotion and expressed optimism that the newly established Saudi–Cambodia Business Council would help expand private-sector links, paving the way for greater trade and investment.
