Cambodia’s central bank forecasts 5% growth, 2.3% inflation in 2026
PHNOM PENH, Jan 27, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s economy is projected to grow around 5 percent in 2026 with inflation at 2.3 percent, according to the latest forecast from the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC).
NBC’s Governor Chea Serey said monetary policy will continue to be implemented cautiously, with the aim of maintaining price and exchange rate stability to support overall macroeconomic stability.

She noted that Cambodia must work to overcome challenges while seizing new opportunities, citing multilateral economic cooperation, continued investment in infrastructure and deeper integration into regional and global markets as foundations for medium term growth.
The forecast aligns with the government’s first phase Pentagon Strategy, which focuses on boosting productivity, strengthening human resources, improving the business and investment climate, modernizing economic institutions and promoting value added and resilient growth.
The central bank said it will continue to roll out proactive measures under its 2025–2030 financial sector development strategy, aimed at contributing to Cambodia’s Vision 2050.
Priorities include reinforcing banking resilience, modernizing payment systems, promoting financial innovation and green finance, and strengthening anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing frameworks.
Chea Serey expressed confidence that stakeholders will continue to support new achievements in economic and financial development for the benefit of the nation and its people.
Global growth in 2025 was forecast at 3.2 percent amid geopolitical tensions and tight financial conditions, with ASEAN growth easing slightly to 8.3 percent.
