Air Cambodia unveils ibis-inspired brand as fleet expansion takes off
PHNOM PENH, Jan 20, 2026 (KPT) – Air Cambodia, the national flag carrier, has unveiled a striking new brand identity and aircraft livery inspired by the Giant Ibis, Cambodia’s national bird, as it embarks on an ambitious expansion drive.
The branding was presented last week at Techo International Airport, where the airline showcased its third ATR72-600 aircraft. The new identity blends national heritage with a vision of stronger regional connectivity.

At its core is a stylized Giant Ibis — known in Khmer as ត្រយ៉ង (Tror Yorng) — reimagined as a symbol of protection, strength and modernity. The logo features 18 feathers shaped like turbine blades and a beak angled upward at 45 degrees within a circle, representing energy, renewal and forward momentum.
Mao Havannall, Minister in charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Air Cambodia, said the rebrand marks another milestone following the airline’s name change from Cambodia Angkor Air to Air Cambodia in September 2024. The logo, approved by the Royal Government on November 7, 2025, underscores the carrier’s role in promoting Cambodia’s identity abroad while supporting civil aviation, tourism and trade.
The refreshed livery adopts a palette of blue, celestial gold and white, with a bold blue tail and fuselage accented by red highlights — a modern interpretation of Cambodia’s national colors. The rollout will be gradual, with some aircraft and platforms continuing to display the previous logo until repainting and updates align with maintenance schedules.
The rebrand coincides with rapid fleet growth. In 2025, Air Cambodia added three ATR72-600 aircraft and signed deals to acquire 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets and 20 COMAC C909 planes. The airline also reported profitability for the third consecutive year, reversing earlier losses and strengthening its financial footing as it prepares for wider regional operations.
