Cambodia’s Rice Exports Surge in 2025, Generating Over $600 Million
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Jan. 5, 2026) — Cambodia’s rice industry posted a strong recovery in 2025, exporting 940,321 tonnes of milled rice worth about $602 million, a 45.6% increase from the previous year, according to official data released Monday.
The exports were shipped by 68 companies to 75 destinations worldwide. Europe remained the largest market, importing 339,417 tonnes valued at $258 million.

China and Hong Kong followed with 231,125 tonnes worth $138 million, while eight ASEAN countries bought 273,657 tonnes valued at $118 million. Shipments to 37 other destinations — including Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — totaled 96,122 tonnes worth $88 million.
Fragrant rice dominated exports, accounting for 64% of shipments. Other categories included long-grain white rice (14%), broken rice (19%), parboiled rice (2%), organic rice (1%) and other varieties.
Cambodia also exported 6.86 million tonnes of wet paddy rice, generating an estimated $1.58 billion in revenue.
Overall, milled rice exports rose 45.6% year-on-year, while paddy exports increased 32.4%, underscoring a broad rebound in global demand and improved market access for Cambodian rice.
