PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 15, 2025) — Cambodia’s trade with the United Kingdom held firm in 2025, reaching $981 million in the first 11 months, as zero-tariff access continued to sustain exports despite global and regional uncertainties.

Data from the General Department of Customs and Excise showed trade between January and November rose 5.3 percent from the same period last year. Cambodian exports accounted for $933 million, while imports from the UK totaled $48 million.

Garments, footwear and bicycles remained Cambodia’s leading exports to Britain, benefiting from preferential tariff treatment, including zero-duty access for textiles, garment products and electrical components.

Commerce Minister Cham Nimul said Cambodia and the UK maintain strong cooperation across multiple sectors, with trade and investment central to bilateral relations.

Socio-economic researcher Dr. Chey Tech said Cambodia’s performance in the UK market reflects the effectiveness of trade preferences, allowing manufacturers to stay competitive and sustain production despite rising costs and external pressures.

In 2024, Cambodia–UK trade surpassed $1 billion, growing 16 percent year-on-year, with exports increasing more than 20 percent — underscoring Britain’s importance as a stable, high-value destination for Cambodian goods.
