PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 10, 2025) — Cambodia’s international trade reached more than $58 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, a 16.2 percent increase compared with the same period last year, according to data released Tuesday by the General Department of Customs and Excise.

From January through November, total trade volume stood at $58.03 billion. Exports accounted for $27.37 billion, up 14 percent, while imports rose 18.2 percent to $30.65 billion. The figures show Cambodia’s trade deficit at about $3.27 billion. Major trading partners include China, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

Lim Heng, vice president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, told KPT English that the growth reflects recent investment projects registered with the Council for the Development of Cambodia, which have strengthened production capacity and boosted exports.

Dr. Chey Tech, a socio‑economic researcher, said exports of garments, bicycles, auto parts and electrical and electronic components have all increased. He noted Cambodia benefits from preferential tariffs, including zero‑percent duties on certain goods entering the United Kingdom, and a competitive 19 percent tariff rate for textile exports to the United States compared with other ASEAN countries.

The government projects economic growth of 5.2 percent in 2025 and 5 percent in 2026, with GDP per capita expected to reach $3,020. Growth in 2026 is forecast to be supported by industry, services and agriculture, while inflation is projected at 2.8 percent.
