WASHINGTON, April 24, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s securities regulator has agreed with the World Bank Group to step up cooperation on developing the country’s derivatives market, officials said Thursday.

Su Socheat, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), on April 23, met World Bank Group representatives in Washington to review progress on regulatory frameworks, capacity‑building plans and next steps. The talks also reaffirmed continued support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, in promoting Cambodia’s capital market development.

Socheat said Cambodia is working closely with the World Bank Group to advance the derivatives sector, including regulatory adjustments and awareness‑raising initiatives. He called for expanded cooperation to accelerate market development and ensure effective oversight.

The collaboration aims to strengthen Cambodia’s financial infrastructure, diversify investment products and build resilience in the securities market.
