STUNG TRENG, Cambodia (Nov. 24, 2025) — Handcrafted Cashew Nuts Stung Treng has successfully completed its first trial export of processed cashew products to Berlin, Germany, marking a milestone for the province’s cashew community.

Company director Mut Charya said the shipment totaled 1,008 cans and represents the start of larger exports planned for the 2026 harvest season. The firm already supplies markets in the United Kingdom, Israel, Japan, Singapore and Germany, with plans to expand to Australia and the United States.

To meet growing demand, the company is installing new machinery to increase processing capacity to 10 tons per day by 2026. “Processing cashews not only creates jobs and boosts the domestic economy, but also generates tax revenue for the state. It brings greater benefits than selling raw products,” Chariya said.

Oun Silot, president of the Cashew Association of Cambodia, said national output is expected to reach 1 million tons in 2026, with cultivation expanding to about 700,000 hectares. He noted that two new factories are set to begin operations next year, further increasing local processing.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, Cambodia earned more than $807 million from cashew exports in the first 10 months of 2025, up 60.9% from the same period in 2024.
