PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 11, 2025) — The opening of the Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge at Techo International Airport on November 11, marks more than just a new luxury offering—it signals Cambodia’s growing ambition to become a premier gateway for regional and global travelers.

Presiding over the launch, Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul emphasized that the new lounges represent a strategic step in elevating Cambodia’s hospitality standards and enhancing the country’s appeal to international tourists and business travelers. The event drew senior officials, business leaders, and the Malaysian ambassador, underscoring the importance of cross-border partnerships in Cambodia’s aviation and tourism sectors.

The launch comes just two months after Techo International Airport officially opened on Sept. 9, replacing Phnom Penh International Airport. Designed to handle up to 13 million passengers annually in its first phase, the airport is a cornerstone of Cambodia’s infrastructure modernization.

Cambodia welcomed 4.3 million international visitors in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting both the country’s tourism potential and the need for continued investment in premium services. The Plaza Premium Lounge’s arrival is a vote of confidence in Cambodia’s future as a competitive, service-oriented economy—one that blends cultural authenticity with world-class amenities.
