PHNOM PENH, July 7, 2026 (KPT) – The Chief of Defence Forces of the Malaysian Armed Forces will make an official visit to Cambodia from July 8 to 11 at the invitation of Cambodia’s military chief, the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces said Tuesday.

The Chief of Defence Forces of the Malaysian Armed Forces General (GEN) Datuk Haji Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, accompanied by his spouse, is scheduled to visit the Kingdom at the invitation of General Vong Pisen, Commander‑in‑Chief of the RCAF.

During the four‑day trip, Gen. Malek Razak Sulaiman will pay courtesy calls on Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister General Tea Seiha and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

He will also hold bilateral talks with General Vong Pisen focusing on measures to strengthen defence cooperation and expand military ties between Cambodia and Malaysia.

According to the RCAF General Command Headquarters, the visit reflects the commitment of both countries’ armed forces to deepen their longstanding friendship and enhance bilateral defence cooperation.

Malaysia and Cambodia have maintained close diplomatic and defence relations, with their militaries regularly engaging in exchanges, training programmes and high‑level visits.

Both countries are members of ASEAN, which promotes regional security cooperation.
In recent years, the two militaries have expanded cooperation through exchanges of senior officials, professional military education, joint training and discussions on regional security issues.

Officials said the upcoming visit would further consolidate defence ties and contribute to regional peace and stability.
