Cambodia Approves $10 Billion National Budget for 2026

PHNOM PENH (Oct. 24, 2025) — The Cambodian government has approved a national budget of more than $10 billion (KHR 40.9 trillion) for 2026, representing approximately 18.9% of the country’s projected gross domestic product.

Endorsed by the Council of Ministers on Oct. 24, the 2026 Budget Law outlines key spending priorities, including strengthening national defense, maintaining state operations, and advancing policy reforms under the Pentagon Strategy Phase I.

The strategy sets out six priority programs, five key measures, and five core goals to guide Cambodia’s development across domestic, regional, and global dimensions.

The government projects economic growth of 5.2% in 2025 and 5.0% in 2026, with GDP per capita expected to rise to $3,020 in 2026, up from an estimated $2,858 this year.

Growth is expected to be driven by the industrial, services, and agricultural sectors, with fisheries and livestock continuing to support rural livelihoods.

The average annual inflation rate is forecast to remain stable at around 2.8%.
In 2025, Cambodia’s national budget was set at approximately $9 billion, reflecting increased allocations for education, healthcare, infrastructure, and post-pandemic recovery.

The 2026 budget builds on those priorities with a stronger focus on strategic reforms and regional integration.
