PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.10,2025) — Cambodia’s trade with international partners totaled $46.99 billion from January through September 2025, marking a 14.8% increase compared to the $40.93 billion recorded during the same period last year, the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reported.

Exports accounted for $22.38 billion, up 12.9%, while imports reached $24.61 billion, a 16.6% rise. The trade deficit widened to $2.22 billion, compared to $1.27 billion in the first nine months of 2024.

Cambodia’s key trading partners include China, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan. Major export items included garments, footwear, machinery and electrical equipment, leather goods, wool products, grains, rubber and furniture.

Dr. Hong Vannak, an economist at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, said the country’s economy continues to perform well across trade, industry and tourism sectors. He noted that exports to the U.S. and Europe remain stable under existing trade frameworks.

Deputy Prime Minister Aun Pornmoniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance, attributed the rebound to government reforms and resilience following the COVID-19 crisis, despite global uncertainties and geopolitical tensions.

The Asian Development Bank revised Cambodia’s growth forecast downward to 4.9% for 2025 and 5.0% for 2026, citing regional instability and export market challenges.
