Cambodia earned nearly $4 billion from agricultural exports in the first nine months
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct.07, 2025) — Cambodia generated approximately $3.88 billion in revenue from exporting 11.13 million metric tons of agricultural products during the first nine months of 2025, marking a 30.43% increase compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said Tuesday.

The exports included 5.29 million tons of non-rice crops, 5.25 million tons of paddy rice, and 596,343 tons of milled rice, reaching 88 countries. The ministry attributed the growth to expanded market access and favorable trade agreements.
Of the total revenue, paddy rice exports accounted for $1.05 billion, milled rice brought in more than $455 million, and non-rice agricultural products contributed over $2.37 billion, the ministry said.
Ngim Chhay, director general of the General Directorate of Agriculture, said the export volume rose by about 2.59 million tons compared to the same period in 2024. He noted that after Thailand unilaterally closed its land border crossings, Cambodia shifted to waterway exports, sending 1,700 tons of agricultural goods to Thailand by sea, valued at approximately $5.8 million.
Cambodia’s key agricultural exports include rice, rubber, cassava, mangoes, bananas, pepper, cashew nuts, longans, durians, and corn. Agriculture remains one of the country’s four economic pillars, alongside garments, tourism, and construction.
