AICHI, Japan (Sept.26, 2025) — Backed by high-level endorsement from the Royal Government of Cambodia, Tourism Minister Huot Hak led a senior delegation to the opening ceremony of Tourism EXPO Japan 2025, held September 26 in Aichi Prefecture.

The global event drew participation from more than 82 countries, 45 Japanese prefectures, and featured over 1,400 exhibition booths. Organizers reported attendance from over 1,300 companies, 700 sellers, 800 buyers, and more than 15,000 visitors. More than 6,000 business matching sessions were held during the expo.

Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism established a dedicated Cambodia Tourism Pavilion to highlight the country’s cultural heritage, ecotourism assets, and emerging travel experiences. The pavilion served as a platform for promoting Cambodia’s tourism offerings to Japanese and international markets.

Minister Huot Hak and the delegation also held bilateral meetings with leading Japanese tourism companies, aiming to strengthen partnerships and boost inbound travel. The visit is part of Cambodia’s broader strategy to expand its tourism footprint in Asia and attract more Japanese visitors.

Between January and July 2025, Cambodia welcomed approximately 3.84 million international visitors.  Cambodia welcomed approximately 65,000 Japanese tourists, according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism.
