TOKYO, Japan (Sept.25, 2025) — Cambodian Ambassador to Japan Tuy Ry joined a high-level meeting on Sept. 25 at the Cambodian Embassy in Tokyo, alongside senior Cambodian officials and representatives from the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) and Japanese private sector.

The meeting was led by Acting Minister Sok Siphana, head of Cambodia’s working group on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and was accompanied by Secretary of State Meas Kim Heng from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Japanese participants included JCA President Takahashi Fumiaki, Kojima Holding Group representative Takeshi Okami, and Hayashi Nobusuke of ABE Economics. A total of 22 Japanese business representatives attended the session, part of Cambodia’s official mission to Japan from Sept. 24 to Oct. 2.

The meeting focused on expanding investment and trade, with Ambassador Tuy Ry expressing gratitude for Japan’s continued support.

From January to August 2025, bilateral trade between Cambodia and Japan reached approximately $1.9 billion, with Cambodian exports—primarily garments, electronics, and agricultural products—outpacing imports. Japan remains one of Cambodia’s top five trading partners under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Cambodian officials also briefed participants on recent border developments with Thailand, reaffirming the government’s commitment to peaceful resolution and regional stability.
