Cambodia Commits to Promoting Green Economy in ASEAN Report
MANILA, March 16, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has pledged to advance a green economy through policies supporting sustainable development, officials said Monday at the launch of a new ASEAN report.
Pich Rithi, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, delivered keynote remarks during the release of “Advancing the Green Economy Transition in ASEAN”, an event jointly organized by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and the Asian Development Bank. The launch was attended by Philippine Trade Secretary Maria Cristina Roque and ADB Vice President Scott Morris.

Rithi highlighted the role of the green economy in fostering innovation, creating jobs and strengthening resilience, while praising the report’s contribution to regional cooperation. He reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to implementing policies that support sustainable growth and urged stronger collaboration, knowledge sharing and continued support from development partners.
The initiative reflects ASEAN’s collective push to ensure member states can fully benefit from the transition toward a greener, more sustainable regional economy.
